The Rotaract Club of Chunnakam implemented a humanitarian project titled “Help to Rise Again” to assist families displaced and severely affected by Cyclone Ditwah, which caused widespread flooding and livelihood disruption in the Poonakary, Muzhankavil, and Mannar areas. Through this initiative, the club distributed essential dry rations to address immediate food insecurity, along with sanitary items, sanitary pads, bed sheets, and basic medicines to support health, hygiene, dignity, and safer temporary living conditions for 150 vulnerable families. The project aligned with Sustainable Development Goals 1 (No Poverty), 2 (Zero Hunger), 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and 13 (Climate Action), as it not only responded to urgent humanitarian needs but also contributed to strengthening community resilience and recovery from climate-related disasters, reflecting the club’s strong commitment to compassionate service and sustainable community support.
