The Rotaract Club of Chunnakam successfully organized a two-day district-level chess competition titled “War of Wits” on 1st and 2nd November 2025 for the Jaffna District, with over 300 participants. While primarily focused on school students, the event also introduced an Open Category to encourage inclusive participation from chess enthusiasts of all ages. The competition aimed to promote strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, sportsmanship, and healthy competition, while also serving as a fundraising initiative to support the club’s future community and educational projects. The prize-giving ceremony recognized outstanding performers, and the project aligned with Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) and 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by fostering intellectual growth and mental well-being, while strengthening the club’s engagement and visibility within the community.
